Cocktails — Classic with a Twist

New classic cocktails hit the Vindalho menu each season. For your consideration, two have been added to the list. The Bengal Cocktail is a sophisticated, old school drink perfect for sipping. She is balanced, cool and warming all at the same time. Served up, Martini style, this selection with Rangpur Gin, Clear Creek Cherry Liquer, Absinthe, Fee Brothers Bitters and Sweet Vermouth provides some welcome relief from the cold.

Our East-side Old Fashioned is another tasty twist on tradition. Garnished with Amarena cherries, this tumbler is the new, new thing that will jumpstart your evening on the eastside of town. Enjoy the balance of sweet, sour and earthy flavors of spice, citrus and gentian brought forward in the bitters and wrapped in Maker's Mark. Sounds like another great night on Southeast Clinton Street.

Some great ink has hit the pages recently from "shout-outs", to recipes, to full on chef profiles. Our friends at TravelOregon chose Pork Vindalho to inaugurate their January issue. Our signature dish from the spice route is bonafide comfort food.

Our friends at FoodDay named "100 Things We (Absolutely) Love" and we are honored that chef de cuisine David Anderson's Masala Chicken Wings made the list. Food writer Kathleen Bauer highly recommends them paired "with a martini." We agree — 'nuff said.

Food writer Ashley Gartland's nicely done article in FoodDay, "Giving Meatballs An Upscale Spin," includes Chef Anderson's Lamb Kofta with Tomato-Yogurt Curry and tips on how to elevate the humble meatball to the most memorable of bites.

As a self-proclaimed "beer buff", David Anderson gave a great interview to Beer Northwest magazine. Enjoy a fun read and learn how chef Anderson puts Vindalho's menu together with the very best beer in the world. Here are the details for a special Beer Dinner at Vindalho, February 23rd. Seats are limited so make your reservation now. Congratulations David!
